If you are looking to gain hands-on legal experience and you are in your second or final year of a Law degree, have your Legal Practice Course/SQE or are working towards it, our one-day Vacation Programme is perfect for you.
Barcan and Kirby’s Spring Vacation Day takes place on Wednesday 10th March 2027.
When can I apply for the Spring Vacation Programme?

What happens during the Spring Vacation Scheme?
We will offer up to 20 students a place on our virtual one-day programme.
Chaired throughout by our Managing Partner, Anna Wilson, this comprehensive day offers a deep dive into legal practice. You will meet Board members and department heads to understand their leadership roles and our practice areas, followed by small-group sessions to analyse case studies, ask questions and explore the mechanisms of building a case.
Later in the day, you will hear from our current trainees, discover alternative paths to qualification like the SQE Apprenticeship Programme, and attend an alumni panel featuring former trainees at various career stages discussing their department choices and progression through our promotion structure.
You will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the day, ensuring you can engage deeply with each session. To bring the day to a close, our Managing Partner will lead a final Q&A session, offering an analysis of the day’s key takeaways alongside invaluable career advice to help guide your next steps.
