For our future lawyers
At Barcan+Kirby, our newly qualified lawyers are an important part of our future. We believe that everyone should feel confident and supported in their role, as well as be encouraged to develop professionally. We understand that the early stages post-qualification bring a new set of challenges and for this reason, the Barcan+Kirby Training Academy was established.
What is the Training Academy?
The Barcan+Kirby Training Academy was relaunched in March 2024 for our newly qualified lawyers (up to three years PQE).
Through the Academy, our lawyers have the opportunity to:
- Build relationships with the management team, the Partnership and each other
- Learn business skills to enable them to flourish as lawyers
- Receive internal and external training, including marketing, business development, finance and compliance
- Showcase their project management, organisational and team work
- Meet regularly to share information about their roles and responsibilities, discuss challenges, work together as a team and support each other
- Gain exposure to the work of the firm’s central departments
- Showcase their project management, organisational and teamwork skill set
When can I join the Training Academy?
Lawyers can join the Academy once they are qualified and up to three years PQE, with meetings taking place every four months.
You will remain members of the Academy for the duration of your training with the firm.
