A Few Words From Our Alumni
As much as we would love for our staff to stay with us forever, we know that things change; whether it’s a change of career, a move to another city or simply an opportunity that couldn’t be missed.
You’ve heard from our existing staff about what it’s like to work at Barcan+Kirby, so let’s hear from our alumni.
“Barcan+Kirby is a great firm to work for, with an open and inclusive policy that makes every employee feel valued. I was given plenty of training and my managers and the senior members of the Reception team were always available for help and support if needed. The progressive culture is also shown in their charity work, dementia training and promotion of equality be it gender, race or religion. I joined the firm after a few years’ work gap which allowed me to gain experience and confidence.”
– Georgina, Receptionist (now in credit control)
“I feel genuinely lucky to have trained at Barcan+Kirby and built my career over the last 13 years. I was fortunate to have been mentored and supervised by incredible Partners who encouraged me to push myself and offered me a fantastic experience. I have always felt that my career aspirations were encouraged and, even when I was no longer a junior, the support from our team meant that I felt championed rather than alone or adrift. The (Family) department is large and so there is an enormous amount of knowledge that is readily shared.
I have been given the freedom to explore new projects and volunteer opportunities that were close to my heart, which I am extremely grateful for.”
– Georgia, Senior Associate
“During my time at Barcan+Kirby, I had the opportunity to lead on transactions and client relationships, engage actively in business development, and help influence the direction of policies and strategy within the firm.
The firm is agile and able to make decisions quickly, and I benefited from working with members of the Board to bring forward some of the new initiatives I had. It was great to see how the Commercial Property team developed over this time and which I’m sure was, in no small part, based on a really strong team spirit!
– Gareth, Senior Associate (now an in-house lawyer)
