Our corporate and commercial solicitors recently advised the owner of a specialist market research company, Blue Marble Research Limited, on her sale to EMB-Group Limited.

Background

Based in Somerset, Blue Marble Research is a leading provider of market research, having achieved steady growth since its launch in 2007. They supply high-quality research and insights using qualitative and quantitative methodologies to a range of customers, including Government bodies, commercial brands, charities and utility providers.

The sale of Blue Marble represented an opportunity to become part of a larger group of companies, whilst continuing to operate as a stand-alone business under the Blue Marble Research brand and retaining and expanding their current team of experts.

Sale of Blue Marble to EMB Group

EMB Group is a well-established provider of research, consultancy and administration services to the public sector and its associated agencies. It is one of the Government’s top 100 SME suppliers and has been named as one of 1,000 companies to inspire Britain.

The Barcan+Kirby team, led by Corporate Partner, Georgina Bryant, advised on the sale with support from Senior Associate, Elsie Lyford. We helped the seller navigate the due diligence process, advised on the relevant notifications required as a result of the change in ownership, and negotiated the share purchase agreement and associated completion documentation.
