Divorce Legal Aid Solicitors
We assess all of our divorce and separation clients for legal aid eligibility. If you’re not eligible, we’ll offer you a free 30 minute consultation, during which we will discuss your individual needs and outline the options available for resolving your particular issue.
Many of our legal aid solicitors are Resolution-accredited and members of the Law Society Family and Children’s Legal Panels. In addition to working with you on your divorce or separation, our expert team can also advise on private financial advice, children matters, civil partnerships, care proceedings, adoption and injunctions. We also encourage mediation and collaborative law wherever possible.

How it works
During your initial consultation we’ll check whether you’re eligible for legal aid. If you are, we’ll sign you up for the initial level of aid.
If legal aid isn’t available to you, you’ll be eligible for a free 30-minute interview where we discuss various options available. We’ll also outline the various fixed fee packages we have available.
If more detailed advice is required and you’d like to continue past the 30 minutes, let your solicitor know and you may be able to carry on into a more detailed consultation. This time will be chargeable, but your solicitor will tell you how much this is likely to be and what other costs are involved.
If none of these options are appropriate, we will discuss with you the hourly rate to be charged for all work.
Paying for legal fees
We will always try to obtain a fair and just outcome for you. Whilst we will support you through any court process, we will do our upmost to help you achieve an agreement before it gets to that point.
To ensure we provide complete clarity about the costs of using our legal services, we have introduced a set of fixed fee packages.
Our aim is to ensure all our fees are open and transparent. Within our fixed fee information we clearly indicate what is and what isn’t included and, once we have discussed your case with you in detail, we can provide a clear guide as to the likely costs involved in your particular divorce.
If, for any reason, you do not wish to use the Fixed Fee packages then we will happily discuss with you our rates on an hourly basis.
