Case study: advising on the sale of a family-run narrowboat holiday hire business

  • Posted

Barcan and Kirby’s Commercial Services division was delighted to advise the owners of a family-run narrowboat holiday hire business on the sale of the business to a private buyer.

The business is located on the idyllic Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, and its fleet comprises four traditional diesel narrowboats, as well as three environmentally friendly electric narrowboats.

The Barcan and Kirby team was led by Georgina Bryant (Head of Corporate and Commercial), with corporate support from Rob Davenport (Partner), Oliver Kent (Associate) and Hollie Milsom (Graduate Solicitor Apprentice). Property-related expertise was provided by James Corrigan (Legal Director) in our Commercial Property team.

One of the owners commented:

“While we are sad to leave our family business and way of life for the past 20 years, we are delighted it has been passed onto great hands, and grateful to the team at Barcan and Kirby for assisting us in the process.”
