Top tier Chambers ranking for Clinical Negligence team
We’re delighted to announce that our medical negligence and personal injury teams have been recognised by Chambers and Partners UK in their 2016 guide to the UK’s legal profession.
We’ve successfully retained our band 1 ranking for clinical negligence and are the only firm in Bristol to receive the highest band 1 ranking for our medical negligence expertise.
We’ve also retained our Band 3 ranking for personal injury in Bristol and the surrounding area.
Chambers makes note of our ability to “think outside the box and work with extra care” on our clients’ needs. We also receive praise for our “empathy and sympathy for the claimant”.
Three members of our clinical negligence team have been identified as ‘notable practitioners’.
Richard Barcan is described as “a truly excellent lawyer” and is referred to a “forefather of the clinical negligence sector”.
Richard Harries, Partner, is identified as a specialist in catastrophic brain injury claims. The guide describes him as “top-draw and one of the absolute clinical negligence specialists who is confident and competent in what he is doing.”
Jayshree Nathwani is described as “careful, patient and caring”, with the guide making note of her expertise in amputation and brain injury cases.
In our personal injury team, Myfanwy Buckeridge is recognised for her expertise. Clients particularly praised her communication, with one commenting that “they work together efficiently, keeping us updated as necessary”.
Richard Barcan says:
“It’s immensely gratifying to know that we continue to command such respect from our professional colleagues and clients for our clinical negligence and personal injury work. Chambers and Partners have rated us in the very highest category for clinical negligence for more years than I can remember now.
Getting to the top is not easy; staying there for a decade or more is phenomenal and is all down to the calibre and commitment of the entire team.
Our clients are very often severely injured, psychologically as well as physically and many feel let down too by their experience. We have always placed enormous emphasis on listening to their story with empathy and discovering what they want to achieve before working tirelessly with them to try to ensure that occurs.
Everyone here is vital in this process, the support workers and every one of our hugely talented legal team just as much as the “stars”.
