Our commercial property lawyers recently advised a property developer on the refinance of a redevelopment project.

The South West-based property developer approached our Commercial Property team after taking on the conversion of a former chapel into residential flats.

Gareth Hughes, Senior Associate, provided advice on the refinancing of the development project. This included providing the bridging lender with the detailed due diligence requirements and liaising with the outgoing lender to secure the release of existing security.

The work had to be completed under considerable time pressure due to the nature of bridging loan finance. The redevelopment project could only progress if the funds were released within a tight timeframe.

Gareth and the Commercial Property team were able to drive the transaction forward ahead of the deadline and ensure that the funds were released in time.
