Case study: advising on the sale of a leading composite material supplier
Nic Barker (Corporate) and James Corrigan (Commercial Property) were instructed by the directors of Matrix Composite Materials (MCM), Sarah Darby and Martin Spooner, on the sale of the business to Tricel Group.
Sale and acquisition of Matrix Composite Materials
MCM, a family business, is a specialist distributor to manufacturers in key automotive, marine, motorsport and offshore sectors. It’s renowned for its high levels of technical and application support.
Tricel Group is a leading supplier of composite materials in the UK and Ireland. The acquisition of MCM is a step forward in Tricel’s continued growth in distribution.
Martin and Sarah will remain with MCM as Managing Director and Finance Director, respectively. The complementary activities of the two companies create important synergies going forward.
The strong working relationship between the Tricel and MCM teams was evident throughout the transaction and indicates that MCM should have an exciting future as it continues to develop as part of the Tricel Group.
It was a privilege to work on a transaction where we and Tricel’s legal team, led by James Hawkins at Knights PLC, were able to work so smoothly towards an agreed objective.
