Stuart Henry
Stuart has worked in Civil and Commercial Litigation since 2008, qualifying as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2012. He has a deep specialism in complex contractual disputes and commercial litigation, as well as many years’ experience in professional negligence claims. He is a member of the PNLA (Professional Negligence Lawyers Association).
Stuart was awarded Civil & Commercial Litigation Lawyer of the Year in 2021, at the Lawyer Monthly Legal Awards, and is a well-known figure in the Bristol legal community, serving as Bristol Law Society President in 2023-24.
Stuart joined Barcan and Kirby in 2026, having previously been a Partner in a top 100 law firm and then running his own consultancy practice for many years.
He routinely acts for businesses and business owners in a variety of disputes, using litigation, mediation and negotiation as the primary tools to achieve results for his clients. Stuart’s clients praise his pragmatic and business-focused approach to unravelling and resolving complicated situations.
Stuart has a growing specialism in sport claims, having been instructed in disputes concerning equine sports, golf, and rugby, including advising on disciplinary appeals at club level.
