Five nominations for Bristol Law Society Awards
We’re delighted to announce that we’ve received no fewer than five nominations for the Bristol Law Society Awards this year!
Building on last year’s successful awards season, which saw Claire Hurrell take away the coveted Lawyer of the Year prize and her colleagues scoop an additional three nominations between them, this year the following are up for awards:
Senior Associates Kirsten Hale and Samantha Castle are both shortlisted for Lawyer of the Year – each was nominated on the strength of their casework as well as their contribution to the management and direction of the firm.
Fiona Dabell meanwhile is up for Junior Lawyer of the Year, thanks to her demonstrable expertise as a medical negligence solicitor and her achievements to date – her career would be an impressive one for any solicitor, but especially one with fewer than four years’ post-qualification experience.
Our HR department, led by Anna Wilson, has also made the cut in the Team of the Year category, a testament both to their hard work and the fact that it isn’t just our lawyers that make us the firm we are – we have all sorts of great people working for us.
Finally, as if to underscore this point, Barcan+Kirby as a company has been nominated for CSR Firm of the Year in recognition of our commitment to charity and our initiatives to promote dementia awareness and accessibility both within our firm and in the community.
We’re up against some stiff competition in this category in the form of two much larger corporate firms with big sponsorship budgets. The quality of the field demonstrates our community credentials and the commitment of people like Anna Molter to making legal services dementia friendly.
