We’re limbering up for half marathon challenge

  • Posted

Six dedicated runners will be taking part in the Bristol and Cardiff half marathons to raise funds for Bristol charities One25 and the Julian Trust.

The team, comprising Katherine Moyse, Fiona Dabell, James Parsonage (all pictured below), Mark Scanlon and Gareth Hughes are training hard in preparation for their Bristol half marathon challenge on 15th September.

In addition, Katie Donne (also pictured) will be tackling the 13.1 miles in the Cardiff half marathon.

Katherine Moyse, solicitor in the clinical negligence team, said:

“After reading about One25 and Julian Trust, a few of us really wanted to get involved in fundraising. As most of us have only ever run to catch a bus, we thought the Bristol half marathon would be a worthy challenge. It’s certainly proving to be just that!

Running is now a regular part of our lives, along with knee pain and blisters. But with four weeks to go, I’m actually quite excited about race day, although there are many more training miles to run before then.

We’re fundraising for two really worthwhile causes so would appreciate as much support as possible to help us to raise as much money as we can – this is ultimately what the challenge is all about and will get us through to the 13th mile on race day!”

Chris Miller, Managing Partner, also commented:

“We take great pride in supporting local charities and community initiatives. This year we’ve nominated One25 and Julian Trust as our charities of the year and we’ll be fundraising for them throughout 2013.

I applaud the dedication of our runners and through this fantastic team, we’re hoping to raise at least £600 for these very worthwhile charities.

We’re not about to rest on our laurels however and have also entered a team for next month’s dragon boat racing charity event in Bristol!”

Otherwise, we wish all our runners the very best of luck. Enjoy the challenge but most of all… keep on running!
