We raised over £2,000 for St Peter’s Hospice during Make a Will Fortnight
We’re delighted to announce that Barcan+Kirby has raised over £2,000 for St Peter’s Hospice, as part of their Make a Will Fortnight last October.
During Make a Will Fortnight, members of our Wills and probate team gave up their time and waived their usual fees in order to prepare Wills. In return, our clients made a charitable donation to St Peter’s Hospice. Four of our offices took part in the scheme – Bedminster, Thornbury and Kingswood.
St Peter’s Hospice is a local Bristol charity which provides hospice and at-home care for adults with life-limiting illnesses, as well as support for their families and loved ones.
Last year they provided care to over 2,200 patients, and bereavement and grief support to over 6,000 family members, including children.
Over 157 supporters took part in the initiative, raising a whopping £31,107 – a total that far exceeds any previous campaign. Of this, £2,106 was contributed by clients of Barcan+Kirby in return for Wills prepared by our team.
As Joelle Allen, Head of Wills at Barcan+Kirby, remarked, “We’re delighted to support a local charity like St Peter’s that provides assistance for those in need within the local area. We are also pleased to have supported this initiative by waiving our charges in return for our clients making a donation to the hospice.
To hear that our clients have contributed over £2,000 to the total raised is a tremendous result, and I would like to thank everyone who took part for their support and generosity.”
