Barcan+Kirby sponsors Cerebral Palsy Football Festival

On the weekend of 3rd and 4th August 2024, we had the pleasure of sponsoring and attending the 2024 Cerebral Palsy International Football Festival in Bristol.

The hosts, Bristol City Cerebral Palsy Football Club (BCCP), organised a wonderful event and it was a great privilege for Barcan+Kirby to be a pitch sponsor.

Two blonde haired females either side of a dark haired male who is wearing sunglasses. They are all smiling at the camera, wearing navy blue t-shirts, with a football pitch in the background    A dark haired male and female dressed in navy blue t-shirts, beige shorts and yellow hi-vis jackets standing in front of a football pitch. There is a large white sign above them that reads 'Barcan Kirby Pitch'.

Over the two days, representatives from our Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury departments volunteered at the tournament. Helen Franklin, Charlotte Tracy, Richard Harries, Evie McAlister and Jack Gay enjoyed two glorious days in the sun, refilling water and directing teams whilst watching football matches played by passionate young players. Our volunteers had an amazing time and met some inspirational people.

Helen and Charlotte also attended the evening dinner and awards ceremony at Bristol City Football Club’s stadium, Ashton Gate. This was a perfect tribute to the stars of the day: the young players.

“What an amazing weekend! It’s not often you get to meet so many awesome people in one day. The event was brilliantly organised and special thanks to Alison for allowing us the opportunity to be a part of this.

I was truly honoured to be ‘chaperone’ for CP Football Development Academy (Team Ireland). They didn’t need me at all due to being absolute pros already, but still allowed me to hang out with them all day. I had so much fun and haven’t laughed that hard in ages. On top of all that, I got to watch some top-class football all day.”
