Training contract FAQs
When does your application process open?
Our training contract application process opens on 19th November each year and closes on 28th February the following year.
Do I need to have completed my Legal Practice Course (LPC) before the interview?
Applicants must have either passed their LPC or be due to pass the LPC prior to the commencement of the training contract.
For example, if you are due to complete your LPC in June 2019, you will be eligible to apply for a training contract commencing in September 2019. If you are successful in obtaining a training contract commencing in September 2019, your offer of employment will be subject to the successful completion of your LPC.
How many trainees do you take on each year?
In previous years we have taken on two trainees per year. Due to our commitment to people development, we are looking to increase this number to four trainees per year, as of September 2019.
Can I have feedback on my application?
Unfortunately, due to the high number of applications we receive, we do not provide feedback on an individual basis at application stage.
We do however offer feedback to all candidates who have attended an interview and assessment centre, if requested.
What is the interview and assessment process?
The interview and assessment process consists of a pre-interview task that will be released usually one week before the interview and a 90-minute interview in which the candidate will be asked to present their pre-interview task, answer a set of standard questions and undertake a written assessment.
When can I start a training contract?
Our training contracts start at the beginning of September each year and candidates must be available for this date.
2019 training contracts will commence on Monday 2nd September.
Am I guaranteed a qualified position upon completion of my training contract?
No, but we will endeavour to place you in a qualified post, subject to business requirements.
Full details of our training contracts will be made available on our current vacancies page when applications are open.
