Resourcing officer (HR)

We are looking for an experienced recruiter to take responsibility for the development and administration of the firm’s recruitment process.

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be responsible for working with team leaders, senior managers and partners to provide an effective and pro-active recruitment service. You will manage the full end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing candidates at all levels through the most appropriate channels.

Key responsibilities +


  • Providing an approachable and knowledgeable point of contact for all recruitment needs within the firm
  • Liaising with hiring managers to understand the requirements of each role, and to agree an appropriate recruitment plan for their opportunity
  • Supporting the full end-to-end recruitment process including writing job adverts to attract the best candidates, arranging and conducting interviews, and managing new starter onboarding
  • Using a variety of social media platforms to assist with the proactive attraction of candidates to the business
  • Liaise with external recruiters with confidence to negotiate fees and set up preferred suppliers list (PSL)
  • Ensuring the recruitment process is focused around the firm’s values
  • Setting up a talent pool
  • Responding to all applications within an agreed timescale and providing feedback to candidates with updates on the recruitment process
  • Working within the HR team to agree and confirm offers of employment and to prepare associated offer paperwork
  • Working with the HR and Marketing teams to promote the employer brand
  • Organising and attending open days/recruitment fairs/law fairs
  • Organising and assisting with internal recruitment/promotions
  • Providing recruitment management information to ensure commercial focus for decision making
  • Ensuring confidentiality and legal compliance at all times
  • Assisting within HR as required during quieter recruitment periods


  • Involvement in new or on-going recruitment/employer branding/HR projects
  • Any other reasonable duties as directed by your manager

Person specification +

Knowledge + experience


  • Proven experience of end-to-end recruitment
  • IT literate with experience of using Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel)
  • Social media savvy, with up-to-date knowledge of how best to use LinkedIn for recruitment
  • Knowledge of employment law, specifically around the recruitment process
  • Discretion with confidential information and have experience of the Data Protection Act
  • Excellent customer liaison, service and delivery


  • Good basic knowledge and understanding of HR
  • Basic employment law knowledge



  • GCSE in English Language and Mathematics or equivalent


  • CIPD Level 3 or equivalent

Location and salary +

  • Based at our Thornbury office
  • Part-time – 20 to 25 hours over 4/5 days per week
  • Home working will be available when not required to be in the office
  • Travel between offices will also be required
