Gearing up for Bike Week 2019
As a firm of keen cyclists, many of our solicitors are advocates for the mental, physical and environmental benefits that cycling can provide.
Our employees can opt in to our Cycle to Work scheme and many others use their bike to get to our offices every day. We recently sponsored and attended ‘Gert Lush’, Bristol’s Vintage Cycling Jamboree, a family-friendly vintage cycling event which included three bike rides through the Somerset countryside.
We were also delighted to sponsor Road Safety Week organised by Brake, the road safety charity, and working with the Brain Injury Group in 2017 and look forward to supporting it again later this year.
Whilst those keen cyclists among us see the positive side of cycling and owning a bike, as personal injury solicitors who act for claimants in cycle injury claims, unfortunately we’ve also seen our fair share of road traffic collisions.
Cyclists are vulnerable road users, so it’s no real surprise that thousands are seriously injured every year as a result of bicycle accidents.
Serious cycling injuries can have a significant financial impact, not to mention the impact on your ability to carry out normal daily tasks and enjoy a standard quality of life. Claiming compensation is often the only way to deal with the negative effect of your injuries on your life.
Our cycling accident solicitors
Cycling accident claims can be complex and are often hotly contested by the defendant. Having specialist legal advice is therefore critical to ensure the right information is brought to light and supported with robust evidence, and that your case is presented effectively, giving you the best chance of a fair outcome.
We offer a no win, no fee consultation with a specialist personal injury lawyer to talk about your options and how best to fund your claim. The offer of no win, no fee cycling accident claims means it will often cost you nothing to start a compensation claim.
We work with clients all over the UK from our offices spread across Bristol and the surrounding area in Bedminster, Bishopston, Bristol city centre, Kingswood and Thornbury.
Case study: compensation of just over £7,295 in cycle lane accident
Mr C was cycling in a cycle lane on a single carriageway when he was hit from behind by a van. The impact caused him to flip over his handlebars and land on the road. As a result of the accident, our client sustained injuries to the back, leg and right elbow. The scarring on his elbow was, whilst well-healed, visible at normal conversation distance, measuring 7cm by 2.5cm.
The claimant instructed our personal injury solicitors to conduct his case and we achieved a successful resolution within one year of the accident, resulting in compensation of just over £7,295 without our client having to attend court.
