We’re a “top-notch Bristol firm”, according to Chambers UK 2013

  • Posted

Barcan Woodward’s clinical negligence team has been highly ranked as a leading department by Chambers and Partners UK 2013, an independent guide to the UK legal profession.

We are also the only firm in Bristol and the surrounding area to receive a band 1 ranking – the highest ranking available – for our clinical negligence expertise.

In their description of the department, Chambers UK describes Barcan Woodward as a “really top-notch Bristol firm” with a trusted team that clients “would recommend to anyone.” One client praised the firm for making them “feel valued and well informed all the way through the process.”

Richard Barcan, founding Partner of Barcan Woodward, has been ranked as a ‘Star Individual’ and described as “exceptional” by his peers. The guide highlights his expertise in obstetric and spinal injury cases, and makes reference to recent cases concerning maximum severity cerebral palsy and severe vision loss due to delayed diagnosis.

Richard Harries, Partner and head of the clinical negligence team, has been lauded by a client for “his professionalism and his ability to always keep me updated.” His recent cases include cerebral palsy and adult brain injury, as well as matters of orthopaedic and GP negligence.

Chambers UK has also highlighted our personal injury department and complimented the team on their handling of complex brain and back injury cases. During the research, clients praised our level of service and complimented our lawyers on their thoroughness and excellent communication.

Particular praise has been awarded to Marina van Vessem, Partner and head of the personal injury department, for her ability in claims involving serious brain, spine and neck injuries, often as a result of road traffic accidents.
